About Médecins Sans Frontières

Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) is an independent organisation for medical humanitarian aid. Every day 67,000 Médecins Sans Frontières field staff are assisting people caught in crises around the world. Their work is only possible thanks to the generous support of people like you.

The first stop on your journey is the African country, Niger. Malnutrition affects hundreds of thousands of children in Niger. The peak occurs between harvests in May and September when household food stores are depleted and are insufficient to meet nutritional needs. During this period, termed the ‘hunger gap’, MSF teams provide RUTF to children suffering from malnutrition.

Your next stop is the landlocked African country, Chad. Access to basic healthcare is limited in Chad, where malnutrition, malaria, and outbreaks of disease are common. While providing support to local hospital infrastructure you see your colleague using a Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) measurement band.

Your journey is almost complete, but not before a visit to Yemen. The ongoing conflict in Yemen has created one of the world's most devastating humanitarian disasters. Your MSF team will help conduct surgery, provide mental health and physiotherapy consultations and run nutrition programs free of charge.
